For five days, eight teams from five schools faced off in the school’s first basketball tournament at Taman Rama.

Participating schools included Bali International School, JB School, Dyatmika, Santo Yoseph and the host Taman Rama.

The Taman Rama 13/14 boys lost their first game but went on to win three in a row advancing to the championship game. They gave a strong effort but could not hold off a talented JB School team over the final minutes of the game. But the boys have come a long way since their first practice and are starting to come together as a team.

“I saw good things from my players. I am happy with their performance and they should be proud of their efforts on the court,” stated head coach Jett Russell.

The 15 and up boys lost their first game as well, but they remained poised and went on to win their next four games to win the championship against Bali International School.

Head coach David Bertrand had this to say of his team, “Our guys really stepped up and defended their home court. Adi was our offensive MVP and Krishna was shutting down our opponents best players on defence. Our point guard Leo, has continued to prove that he is a leader and does a great job on both ends of the court.”

The tournament was a success and tournament director Jett Russell would like to give thanks to all involved.
